Burning Barn’s Wonderful Winter Warmers

With the cold winter weather swiftly upon we’re swapping out the ice cubes and sun-loungers for a tipple of wintery warmness. There’s nothing quite like something warming in a Bothy after a highland adventure or a thermos full of Spiced Rum Hot Chocolate to accompany you on a winter’s walk. So, to help keep you merry and warm this season we’re bringing you three of our favourite winter warmers.  

Spiced Honey Hot Toddy

A fantastic new addition to our Cocktail List, you heard it here first. The Spiced Honey Hot Toddy is a serious head-turner, given its gorgeous citrusy smell and ideal if you’re looking for a refreshing winter cocktail.

• 25 ml BB Honey and Rum 
• 25 ml BB Spiced Rum 
• Juice of 1/2 a lemon
• A teaspoon of honey
• A slice of lemon and fresh ginger

Mix all your ingredients together then top with boiling water, add a slice of lemon and fresh ginger and serve in your favourite tea mug.

 

Spiced Rum Hot Chocolate

This one’s a sure-fire crowd pleaser, easy to make in a large batch and the ideal accompaniment to any Christmas gathering.

• 4 tsp Cocoa Powder
• ½ tsp Cinnamon
• 100g Dark Chocolate
• 500 ml Milk
• Brown Sugar/ Honey to taste
• 100 ml BB Spiced Rum (Not optional) 
• Marshmallows (Optional)

Pour the milk into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat, add the chocolate and cinnamon. Stir until the chocolate has melted. Add cocoa powder, sugar and rum. Simmer for a further minute or two.

Pour into your favourite mug and enjoy next to a roaring fire, our Rum’s chilli kick will warm you up in no time.
